The Role
As the Senior Engagement Manager for our Project & Interim division, you will strategically align resources and initiatives to cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, drive new client acquisition, and expand our existing client base. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, results-driven professional with a passion for business development, client relationship management, and impactful sales recruitment.
What You’ll Do
- Drive new business development through proactive networking, cold calling, social selling, and building strong client relationships.
- Construct and implement strategies to foster meaningful relationships with finance and data analytics leaders.
- Lead and manage a portfolio of client engagements, providing guidance on the talent landscape and industry trends
- Consult with clients through different stages of their growth, guiding them through challenges to evolve their finance function.
- Advise clients on the talent market and provide insights into hiring strategies for key roles, adjusting recruitment approaches to fit each client's specific business needs.
- Lead the placement of top-tier finance, accounting, and data analytics professionals, collaborating closely with the recruitment team to drive high-growth strategic finance initiatives within scale-up and enterprise growth companies.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to generate and upsell services to both new and existing clients.
- Maintain consistent business development efforts to fuel Clarity Recruitment’s continued growth.
- Leverage negotiation skills to create mutually beneficial outcomes and strengthen client relationships.
- Contribute to building scalable recruitment processes and an exceptional client experience.
- Work closely with the Recruitment team and other divisions to ensure successful placements and uncover cross-sell opportunities.
- Attend in-person staff meetings/events at our Oakville or Toronto (ON) office locations as needed or required.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or Economics.
- 3-5 years of experience in a B2B sales role or within the recruitment industry, with a strong preference for experience in Accounting and Finance recruitment.
- Finance and Accounting professionals, particularly CPAs with some recruitment or sales exposure, are a plus.
- Proven ability to develop business and drive sales through cold calling and relationship building.
- An experienced sales/recruitment leader with strong networking skills and the ability to connect with finance leaders.
- A track record of consistently achieving or exceeding targets.
- Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in managing ambiguity within a startup environment.
- High emotional intelligence: You will interact with finance leaders in scale-up and enterprise growth companies. It is critical that you can find common ground to establish trust with them
- Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRMs, and can pick up new systems quickly.
Create a foundation 6-MONTHS into your role:
- Finding Clarity: understanding our business, our values, and what we’re about
- Identify and build out a target list of companies to develop business from
- You will start building relationships with the right people
- Fostering trust and partnerships with key stakeholders; gain buy-in through advocacy
- Cross-sell and working with other divisions of the business
- You’ll feel right at home speaking with finance leaders and structuring the process
- Within the first 3-months, you’ll make a placement
- Honing and cultivating your influencing skills, negotiation, and counteroffer acumen
- You will successfully complete your training period and gain the skills to succeed
Become the Engagement Manager you want to be, 12-MONTHS into your role:
- At this point, you’ll be acquiring accounts and bringing in your own engagements
- You will be nurturing accounts and prospecting new ones
- Networking events will become your domain as you develop our brand
- You have mastered utilizing our proprietary technology and other technical aspects
- Collaborate as part of company-wide recruitment on internal innovations to make a great recruitment team, even better
- Build and expand your foundational industry knowledge, capitalizing on your understanding of effective finance structures. As a forecasting wizard, your enhanced ability to read the market will inform your projections, strategies, and insights.
